XV. The Devil
Bound in the chains of desire and temptation, the Devil card represents both power and captivity. It challenges the viewer to confront their darkest urges, illusions, and obsessions. The figure, bold and commanding, stands before a radiant sun, symbolizing the seductive allure of false enlightenment.
This card urges a deep reflection on what binds you—what desires or fears keep you trapped. Do you control your demons, or do they control you?
The Beginning of the Tarot Project
What started as a simple sketch for "The Devil" card grew into something much larger—a passion project that has inspired me to create an entire set of tarot cards, each with its own unique lore and design. While "The Devil" marks the beginning, I am currently in the process of crafting additional cards and weaving a deeper narrative through the set.
As the project evolves, I plan to revisit and refine elements such as the card borders to better fit the overarching theme and aesthetic of the collection.
VI. The Lovers
The Lovers card represents a delicate balance between passion and control. Here, The Fool—a wandering human man—believes he can tame the mysterious force that is Temperance, a figure of divine equilibrium. Blinded by his love and desire, he underestimates her true power. Bound together by invisible threads of fate and illusion, he strives to control what he cannot fully understand.
The Lovers speak to the tension between longing and ignorance, of love that both frees and binds. It is a warning and a celebration—of choosing love, yet knowing that some forces cannot be mastered.
